Herbal Plants for Human Health

The active substances of a medicinal herb are not evenly contained in all parts of a plant. Sometimes, they were found only in the flowers, leaves or roots, even in seeds, fruits or bark! Some herbalists also translate that herbs is a certain parts of a plant that produce vitamins or nutritious as a remedies to health problems.

Just to sustain the knowledge of this, below are some examples of frequently used medicinal herbs (part of the herbal plant that benefits us):-

Flowers : Camomile (essential oil – inflammatory diseases of gastro-intestinal tract)
Leaves : Sage (substances – antibacterial effects)
Roots : Valerian (tranquilizing and somniferous substances)
Seeds : Psyllium seed (swelling substances for digestion in external layers of seeds)
Fruits : Fennel (essential oils – bronchial catarrh and digestive disorders)
Bark : Oak bark (anti inflammatory substances)
